watch something on iina with anilist set to the provider

I am using an intel mac and i'm on the latest version of hachidori 3.3.18
after switching from MAL to anilist, hachidori has become increasingly buggy.
after correctly scrobbling the last thing i watched on iina every few minutes the identify correct title popup keeps appearing even if i am not watching anything.
The popup is blank too, not prefilled like it usually is when it needs help.
I also turned off monitor rewatches in hopes that would help but it does not.
After restarting the app the popups stop but they eventually start again.
